2011 Best Restaurant Award

Congratulations to Summer Lodge Country House Hotel, announced as winner of the Princecroft Willis 2011 Taste of Dorset Best Restaurant Award at a presentation dinner on 2 September.

Executive Head Chef, Steven Titman joined the team in 2004 from the White Barn Inn, Kennebunkport in Maine, USA. Steven says: "From Dorset’s abundant local produce, my resourceful and imaginative international team creates delicious dishes to tempt and satisfy you. For a while now, we have been collaborating with local producers on finding the very best that the region has to offer. In particular, over and above the quality of the foods we are buying, we are interested in their provenance, and their can be fewer places in England where such an enormous variety of delicious food has to travel such a short trip to arrive in our kitchen.

Managing Director, Jonathan Raggett, says: "We are a family run small collection of five- and four-star hotels who fight the big chains for business. We will never have the same Sales and Marketing spend as these players, so it is my belief that we need to make an even better job of taking care of our guests."
