Princecroft Willis Family Business of the Year 2009

The winners of the 2009 Dorset Business Awards were announced at a Gala Dinner held at The Lighthouse on 11 December.

We are delighted to announce that Raymond Brown Group Ltd is the 2009 Princecroft Willis Family Business of the Year.

Raymond Brown Limited has operated as an independent family business for over 50 years under three generations of the Brown family.  Raymond Brown's daughters stepped into the business in 1973.

It is not only the Brown family which now has its third generation of family members making their way in the business.  The current group chairman is Ron Isaacs, who started with the company in 1964, and his own son, Mark, is Director of Raymond Brown Minerals and Recycling.  Mark's daughter and Ron's nephew are both employed by the company.

Raymond Brown Group has expanded its commercial interests across Dorset and Hampshire.

Adrian Simpson, Princecroft Willis family business director and judge of the Award, said: "Although Raymond Brown died in 2008 his enthusiasm and passion for the business has given the group strong family values of honesty, integrity and hard work.  These have been carried on by the remaining members of the Brown and Isaac families.

"The group demonstrates a family business at its very best and is a worthy winner of this Award."

Congratulations also to the runners up: Pineapple Group and Morning Data Ltd.
