What we offer
As a graduate trainee with Princecroft Willis, you will have the opportunity to work with the leading independent accountancy practice in the Bournemouth, Poole and New Forest area and the chance to learn about accountancy practice in depth. We aim to support our graduate trainees to develop a base of skills and experience and to provide the opportunity for personal growth. At Princecroft Willis, we believe there are three important aspects to our business which underpin our success: our people, our clients and our knowledge.
We are a Platinum Accredited ACCA Training Practice (the only independent practice to have achieved this top accreditation in the Bournemouth and Poole area) which means that we offer top quality support during your training (ACCA website: www.acca.co.uk). Our professional training courses are provided by BPP and Kaplan both based in Southampton and theycan provide support for ACCA and ACA studies.
We are IIP (Investors in People) accredited and therefore offer excellent support for the development of all of our employees. We strive to continually improve our standards and involve our employees in that goal, taking pride in the development of our staff.
You will be working with highly trained individuals in a team environment. You will be recruited into a permanent “real” job with an immediate requirement to contribute to the work and responsibilities of your team. Our clients are many and varied and you will get the chance to work with a diverse range of client industries from our offices in Poole and the New Forest.
You will have the opportunity to work in one of our tax teams as well as an accounts/audit team. You will take ownership of your development and will be expected to take an active role in your own learning. You will have the opportunity to produce a personal development plan with your team manager during your first week with us.
Exact details of your programme will vary according to your progress and your personal career goals but we offer graduates;-

What we are looking for
We are looking for a range of different skills. Firstly you will need a university degree with an analytical, numerical or business content. Some work experience would be preferable. You need to demonstrate business acumen and to be goal oriented. You will need good communication skills and your motivation and commitment should be high, with a desire to continue learning. We don’t just value people for their academic qualifications but for the qualities they can bring to Princecroft Willis.
We need good teamworkers as well as those who can adapt to varying working environments as you will have to be prepared to work at our clients’ premises as well as in the office.
You should have an enquiring mind, resilience and maturity.

You will receive a full induction into the firm on your first day covering all aspects of the firm, including training, health and safety and working arrangements. This is followed up soon after joining the firm to ensure you are completely settled.
As well as financial support for studying a professional qualification, our team structure means that you will be fully supported by experienced professionals throughout your training.
You will report directly to an accounts team manager who will discuss your progress, objectives and development with you on a regular one-to-one basis.
We have a Training Manager who will be available to discuss specific aspects of your training with you when required.
Career paths are not inflexible at Princecroft Willis and we take every opportunity to support you in your career aims.
As well as full support for your professional studies, we provide the opportunity for you to attend professional update courses on topics such as auditing, specialist accounts and tax as well as general accountancy updates. We can also offer IT courses and courses to develop skills such as client interviewing, report writing and communications skills.
We will offer you an overview of our payroll and company secretarial functions, HR function, practice management and financial services. You will also have the opportunity to understand what an accounts team manager role entails as well as that of a partner in the firm.
